Using some of the amazing Gareth Pugh scultured pieces lends a completely modern feel to image that blends so naturally with the surroundings of the Chrysler Building.I've always viewed Pugh's work as been so individual and different from others in that it is more a form of art rather than fashion, and in some ways explains his financial struggles. However after furthering my studies in sculptural fashion it has only hindered my opinion on Pugh's work, as now i see it more as a modern take on Thierry Mugler's work during the 80's till present day.
Being a fashion designer in training I believe that in today's society to create something so fresh and new is almost impossible as fashion is constantly spinning in a circular motion and so I admire the more recent designers who have taking inspiration from the past and interpreted it in their own way.
