& "THE SWINGING 60'S"
2nd lecture: 1960's
So i decided to research into Paco Rabanne and find out why everyone in the 60's loved to wear plastic, paper, metal etc, basically everything which today's society is trying to recycle, to "be green".
Apparently the clothing was mainly popular for its limited use and so it was basically disposed of after a few wears, inspired by the work clothes at the time.
Rabanne used mainly metal disks to create his dresses, which, in most images, i felt reflected the idea of flowers chained together, as they too were common around the late 60's.
The thing that i admire the most about this era, apart from the fashion, was the natural beauty of which the women expressed, wearing little makeup and keeping their hair cropped and cute!
Its sometimes the simplest things in fashion that can be the most inspiring.
